Verification and safety
The word verified is attached to escort listings across this category to mean almost anything, from a checked passport to a confirmed email address. Here is exactly what it means on this site, and — more usefully — what it does not.
Before a profile here can carry the badge, the person behind it submits a government-issued identity document and takes a selfie at the time of the check. The two are compared. If they match, the badge appears. That is the whole process and the whole claim: this is a real person, and they are over eighteen.
What it does not establish: that the photographs on the profile are recent or are of that person; that the description is accurate; that they will reply; that they will turn up; or anything at all about what kind of experience follows. Those are different questions and a document check cannot answer any of them.
This matters because the badge is often read as a general endorsement, and reading it that way is how people stop asking the questions that would have protected them. It is one input. It happens to be the single most useful one available, which is precisely why it should not be the only one.

An ID check confirms who someone is today. It says nothing about when the pictures were taken. A profile whose photographs and description do not quite agree is worth a direct question, and a straight answer to it is itself informative.
The check happens once, at setup. It cannot confirm who is typing months later. Messages that read like a script, or that answer a specific question with a generic reply, are the usual sign.
Once a conversation moves to another app there is no record and no verification attached to it. This is where nearly every reported problem originates, and it is the one part entirely within your control.
None of the above is exotic and none of it requires expertise. Nearly every problem people report would have been caught by one of these six checks, applied before rather than after money changed hands.

Prefer listings with a badge, dates and specifics; run a reverse image search on the photographs; keep contact on the platform; and treat any request for an irreversible deposit as the end of the conversation. Those four cover most of it.
Yes, they are common and reasonable — time is being reserved. The method is what matters. A traceable payment is ordinary business; gift cards or crypto to a stranger are not, and the difference is not subtle.
Because the pattern behind most reported problems is exactly that, and because it removes our ability to help. It is the one piece of advice here that costs you nothing and prevents the most.
Use the report control on the profile. It reaches a person with the listing attached. Anything suggesting coercion or someone under eighteen goes to law enforcement rather than into a moderation queue.
